Our hip & savvy horn section adds an exciting dimension to the band. We specialize in playing, 60's soul, Classic R&B, Motown, Stax & Swing. Sherri Barbee (lead female singer) is from North Carolina and received her vocal training at the Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts. Sherri began her vocal career as the lead female vocalist with the Rare Essence Band. She's performed with Alantic Starr, Peobo Bryson, Glenn Jones, Roy C, Marvin Cease, Latimore, Shirley Brown, Dorothy Moore, Gene Chandler, and Rudy Moore. Sherri's dynamic vocal styling's continue as a member of D.C. Soul featuring Skip Mahoney. Sherri lends her vocal styling's to singing R&B, Pop, Gospel, Country Western, Classical, and Blues. Her high energy performance always leaves audiences wanting more......
